Whilst we eagerly wait for the vaccine to protect us from Covid19 pandemic, here is a warning to the personal hygiene companies and celebrities to avoid another pandemic on their brand’s online presence. Covid19 pandemic has shifted the brand promotion and brand marketing focus and money to the online world. A brand that is not present online is not present anywhere in the world, period. One of key online brand asset is the domain name which is unique to the brand through which discerning customers are able to identify its product and services. It establishes and seals the online presence of a brand. Further, a good domain name makes it effective for search engine optimization thereby saving lots of money towards keyword-based online advertisements.

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) begun accepting application for the new Generic Top Level Domain Names (gTLD) where companies and organizations would be able to choose essentially arbitrary top-level internet domains. For example, in this website www.articles.legal, the gTLD is .legal.

XYZ.COM LLC (“XYZ”) has the right to issue second level domain names with gTLDs .skin, .hair, .beauty and .makeup. These gTLDs were sold by Loreal to XYZ in January 2020.

Imagine how attractive and easy to remember domain names like www.YourBand.beauty, www.YourName.beauty, www.YourBrand.skin, www.YourBrand.hair and www.YourBrand.makeup would boost the online presence of your personal hygiene company or celebrity brand.
